Who are we?
We are part of the new solidarity network in Neustadt „SUN“ (Solidarity Unites Neustadt). SUN is independent, self-organized, solidary and stands for an open and diverse world and a good life for all. As part of SUN, we have formed a working group on education. We are parents/guardians, students, some of us work in schools or universities, are retirees,… and we repeatedly experience that many people are left behind in schools and educational institutions in Bremen.
What do we want?
We want to actively and concretely work to support people in Neustadt with problems in and with various educational institutions (school, daycare, university, vocational training,
language courses, etc.) and improve conditions for everyone – regardless of origin, abilities, language skills, and financial means.
We want to create a space…
- …for sharing experiences and where frustration and anger can be expressed
- …to develop constructive ideas together
- …to advocate for concrete political changes
- …to make existing support structures in Bremen’s school system more understandable and
accessible (e.g., support with applications) - …to offer free solidarity-based tutoring if needed
